DR TOOT presents a very rare Yanagisawa vintage/professional alto saxophone Elimona 800 from Japan.
According to the serial number, this saxophone was the 1839th horn made in April 1979. Yanagisawa made Elimona 800 series between 1978 and 1980.
It is a professional saxophone with super high attention to detail. It’s said that these are some of the finest saxophones ever made. I’ve seen an Elimona alto sax once in 80s, and now this is the second time in my long career. Even in Japan, it’s not seen often nowadays.
The saxophone has got a beautiful engraving on the bell as per photo. This sound is even, smooth and beautifully in tune. Very free blowing and well balanced keys.
