It is a semi professional model and the previous model of the current model YOB432.

Yamaha semi professional model oboes offer accurate intonation, balanced response, and exquisite tone. The YOB422 has a Conservatoire key system with a full-automatic octave key, and the body is made from top quality, carefully seasoned grenadilla.
The YOB422 was produced from 1989 to 2004.
